Mariana Garcia
Mariana Garcia is a Master's Level Counseling Intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Liberty University. Her journey into the world of psychology was deeply personal, sparked by a recognition of the stigma surrounding mental health in the Hispanic community. She believes everyone deserves a safe and supportive space to explore their feelings and work towards a healthier, happier life.
Mariana has three years of experience working as a behavioral clinician, collaborating closely with families and children. It was during this time that she discovered a profound passion for supporting children and adolescents as they navigate life's challenges. She approached therapy with a focus on practical solutions, utilizing Solution-Focused brief Therapy (SFBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify strengths, develop coping skills, and create positive change. Her commitment is to provide a warm, safe, and non-judgmental environment where you feel truly heard and understood.
Outside of work, Mariana enjoys the simple pleasures of baking, getting lost in a good book, exploring true crime podcasts, soaking in culture at museums, and discovering charming cafes.
“Anything that's human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.”
