Guido Blacutt, M.A.
Greetings! I’m Guido, a Resident in Counseling in Virginia with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Mason University. Fluent in both English and Spanish, I’m passionate about breaking down barriers to healing by creating an inclusive, compassionate space where your story is honored and your voice is truly heard. I bring a vibrant blend of creativity, innovation, and heartfelt insight, partnering with you to explore new perspectives, embrace your strengths, and courageously navigate life’s challenges.
Do you find yourself overwhelmed by feelings of hopelessness, sadness, fear, or a loss of motivation? Are worry, agitation, racing thoughts, or nervousness interfering with your peace and daily life? Whether you’re a child or an adult, I specialize in supporting people through depression, anxiety, trauma/abuse, grief/loss, eating disorders, addiction/substance use, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder (BPD).
My therapeutic approach is grounded in mindfulness, while also being eclectic, drawing from a range of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to best support your unique needs and goals. I’m committed to providing care that is both multicultural and LGBTQ+ affirming, ensuring every client feels understood and empowered throughout their process.
About Me: I enjoy and prioritize self-care through consistent exercise, running, playing soccer, hiking, and spending time in nature to ground and heal. I’m also a guitarist and singer at heart, music has long been a meaningful outlet in my life, and I’ve had the opportunity to engage in music therapy both with others and in my own healing. I consider music to be one of the most universal and transformative coping tools in existence.
“Awareness is the greatest agent for change.”
