Guido Blacutt, M.A.

A man with bright blue eyes and dark hair wearing a black shirt, standing in front of green foliage.

A Resident in Counseling in Virginia, Guido Blacutt holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Mason University. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he is deeply committed to creating a therapeutic space where individuals feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued. With a warm, collaborative presence, Guido invites clients to explore their inner world with curiosity and courage—helping them uncover new perspectives, reconnect with their strengths, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

Guido works with both children and adults navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. He has particular experience supporting individuals struggling with substance use and addiction, as well as those facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder (BPD). He approaches each client’s journey with compassion, cultural awareness, and a strong belief in their capacity for growth, healing, and transformation.

His therapeutic approach is rooted in mindfulness and grounded in a trauma-informed framework that emphasizes compassion, genuineness, authenticity, and lived experience. Guido views therapy as a collaborative and meaningful process—one in which he walks alongside clients as a guide, helping them cultivate awareness, deepen their connection to themselves, and navigate life with greater clarity and intention.

He integrates a range of evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). His approach is flexible and tailored, meeting each individual where they are while supporting them in building practical skills, strengthening resilience, and aligning their lives with their values. Guido is especially passionate about providing multicultural and LGBTQ+ affirming care, fostering a space where authenticity is not only welcomed, but celebrated.

Beyond the Therapy Room, Guido is a firm believer in practicing the balance and self-care he encourages in others. He is an avid outdoor and nature enthusiast who finds grounding and renewal through hiking, running, and spending time outside. He enjoys staying active through soccer, sports, and weightlifting, valuing both physical and mental well-being as interconnected aspects of health.

At heart, Guido is also a musician—a guitarist and singer who views music as one of the most powerful and universal forms of expression and healing. Whether through personal practice or connection with others, he embraces music as a tool for emotional release, creativity, and transformation.

“Awareness is the greatest agent for change.”
